EXA AG is distraught to announce the sudden demise of Harald Stuckert (aged 63), the co-founder of EXA AG and Chairman of it’s Supervisory Board, on April 10, 2016. His presence will be sorely missed at EXA AG.
Harald had an illustrious career at SAP for nearly 3 decades. He started his SAP journey working with Hasso Plattner, leading SAP CO development in his early years. He established SAP Labs offices in France and the USA. He was co-founder of the first Industry Business Unit (IBU Aerospace & Defense). Among his many accomplishments, he played executive management roles at SAP such as Global Head of Supply Chain Management, Global Head of SAP Custom Development, and Global Deputy CTO.
After retiring from SAP, Harald co-founded EXA AG and eventually became the Chairman of it’s Supervisory Board.
As news spread about Harald’s passing, CEO Divya Vir Rastogi received condolences from industry leaders and senior SAP management. One of these is a moving tribute from Hasso Plattner 
(Chairman- SAP Supervisory Board), describing Harald’s personality and his many contributions. It also contains personal reminiscences posted by some SAP colleagues.
Divya Vir Rastogi worked closely with Harald for 13+ years. Addressing EXA AG employees, he said: “It is difficult for me to find the right words to describe this immense loss, as Harald was not only an extraordinary visionary, leader and mentor, but also a great friend. The company and more significantly, its people – were extremely important to Harald. I look forward to your support in fulfilling Harald’s vision and continuing the work he started at EXA AG.”
